The Isles MUST have a sustained game for 60 minutes. An off night here and there is one thing due to fatigue, but they are pro athletes in their early 20s not fat and 40 like me.

The motivation should be there. Despite the bad loss to the Panthers, the Isles are not out of it by any means.

But, they have not had a really good game in a while. The game against Montreal and Florida were disasters. The game against Philly and LA were snooze fests in which Nabokov stole the points — both times.

They need a top tier performance from the top line.

Regarding your 4th line — I am befuddled at this point of why Capuano is leaving a high skill player like Nino on the 4th unit. I get that he is young at 19, and still learning — especially the defensive side of the game. But he is not going to improve on the 4th line with 6 minutes a night of ice time. His big frame could be a welcome addition to the third unit to help create some space for Bailey.

Just a thought....

Reasoner and Rolston playing and the Isles called up Wishart to sit him? Are the Isles trying to lose on purpose? It's going to be a long night.

Speaking of Wheeler, he had a great quote today. Don't remember word for word but to paraphrase he acknowledged that both teams desperately need these points, and if you can't win these games that you definitely don't deserve to be there.

Bad news Chief Boston signed Boychuk for 3 years. These teams continue to sign their own guys before they become FA's. I thought the whole idea was to get to Free agency? The Isles have trouble as is it to sign FA's and is keeps getting harder.
